KAJET needs new leadership!

AJET is the voice of JETs like you.  Not only to each other but to CLAIR, MEXT, and also to our communities.  All the nice bennies we JETs have taken for granted were at least in part negotiated by AJET reps.  I have been involved with KAJET for a while now, and even though I am not a JET anymore I am willing to help facilitate the new leadership with the tools you'll need to make KAJET what it once was.  As KAJET president your primary role is to convey what's happening on the national committee to the people in Kyoto.  You'll need to form a crew that is willing and able to coordinate events but most of all you'll need to be the main disseminator of pertinent information essential to JETs in Kyoto.

So what do you say?  You can get involved as little or as much as you like but Kyoto really need someone to step up and take the lead.

JET is such a great thing.  AJET is an essential part of it, and it needs your help.  Please get involved.  Join the KAJET facebook page.  Register on kyotoajet.com.  Post on the forums.  Hold an event.  Be a star.

FOND FAREWELLS

Sayonara Season is just about upon us.  I don’t know about you guyz but each year seems to go by faster and faster.  There are a few exciting things going on that we can participate in as a last hurrah with the best of friends we’ve made during our time in Kyoto.  This will be my last mass mail to you as I will be leaving JET after my contract is up.  I'll still be around Japan though.  Kim Neys will be your new representative.  Please give help her help you this next year.

First some administrative slappy talk to get through.

FACEBOOK: Facebook has changed around it’s system with regards to groups and pages.  A Kyoto AJET page has been created for everyone to “like”.  This will now serve as the official Kyoto AJET page on facebook.  The current group “Kyoto JETs : Past and Present” will now serve as mostly an alumni group and will continue to be administered for the foreseeable future.

NEXT GEN: Although I’ll still be in Japan I will no longer be a JET come the end of July.  Kyoto AJET is going to need a fresh group of coordinators.  There are a couple people interested in getting more involved but I’d like to see a couple more.  We need people who are interested in scheduling events, adding useful information to the website/facebook/google accounts, getting involved in AJET on a national level, and giving a hand to your fellow JETs with anything and everything.  Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. NEW NATIONALS: A new team of council members have taken the reigns at the national level at the annual hand-off meeting last week.
